This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.
• Lead the design and execution of backend services and essential system components within the RHACS platform.
• Develop and enhance crucial services, automation tools, and Linux-based data collection systems with a strong emphasis on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Influence architectural choices and contribute to the long-term technical strategy of the platform.
• Take ownership of your code quality and ensure that systems are well-tested, observable, and resilient.
• Promote a “design-first” engineering culture by advocating for design document practices and structured technical reviews.
• Develop and refine automated testing frameworks for complex distributed systems.
• Identify technical gaps, emerging risks, and future scalability challenges in Kubernetes security proactively.
• Assess and implement new technologies, frameworks, and languages that enhance developer productivity and system robustness.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to define and enhance RHACS features.
• Work together with teams to ensure alignment on architecture, priorities, and delivery schedules.
• Troubleshoot and resolve intricate customer issues related to Kubernetes, Linux internals, and distributed systems.
• Provide in-depth technical insights and guidance to enhance system reliability and customer experience.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and technical advice.
• Cultivate a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and engineering excellence.
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field with over 5 years of software engineering experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with more than 7 years of relevant experience in backend systems, security, or distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in backend development with proficiency in languages such as Go, C++, or similar.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and creating scalable, high-performance distributed systems.
• Practical experience in building RESTful and/or gRPC APIs in production settings.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, including deployment, operations, and security in production environments.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Helm, or similar technologies.
• Experience with system-level debugging, Linux internals, or security-focused engineering is highly desirable.
• Strong proponent of automated testing, CI/CD, and high-quality engineering practices.
• Proven ability to write clear, structured technical design documents.
• Excellent communication skills with the capability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
• Collaborative approach with experience working across engineering, product, and design teams.
