Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain product features alongside backend components, which encompass services, integrations, and internal workflows.

• Craft production-ready code and lightweight prototypes to swiftly validate concepts.

• Create automated tests and proactively resolve issues to ensure stable releases, as engineers are responsible for quality in the absence of a dedicated QA team.

• Assist in proof-of-concepts and experiments by establishing test cases, analyzing results, and enhancing areas where quality is lacking.

• Document systems and workflows for others to operate, maintain, and expand upon what you develop.

• Convert business challenges into well-defined AI tasks and execute end-to-end solutions with guidance from technical leads.

• Prepare and sustain data and test cases utilized to evaluate output quality.

• Implement common AI application patterns like prompting, leveraging internal knowledge sources, and utilizing external tools or APIs.

• Assess quality using repeatable evaluation techniques, including automated checks and structured human reviews when necessary.

• Contribute to production readiness through version control, monitoring, basic performance and cost awareness, and usage tracking.

• Adhere to privacy, security, and compliance protocols in collaboration with Legal and Security teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of overall software engineering experience, with a minimum of 2 years dedicated to building and deploying production systems within product teams.

• More than 4 years of practical technical experience in writing production-quality code.

• Solid software engineering fundamentals, which include system design and scalable architecture.

• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript (or equivalent), focusing on building APIs, services, and data pipelines.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability.

• An experimentation mindset — capable of defining metrics, constructing evaluation frameworks, and rapidly iterating in ambiguous problem domains.

• A keen interest in learning and utilizing GenAI technologies in real-world, production settings.
