Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Acquire knowledge in agriculture and become proficient in understanding the workflow and business requirements of PickTrace customers to create a refined, high-performance user experience.

• Advocate for best practices in development processes and deployment, including the responsible integration of AI-assisted development tools and workflows.

• Utilize AI tools as a force multiplier by leveraging AI assistants to enhance coding, research, debugging, and documentation across the technology stack.

• Foster and maintain a collaborative culture that encourages teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.

• Engage in full stack development, covering both back end and front end tasks.

• Develop efficient, scalable, and easily testable APIs.

• Create reusable frontend components.

• Provide mentorship to fellow engineers.

• Contribute to sustainable code practices by conducting code reviews and writing tests.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English, both verbal and written.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in developing web-based software.

• Familiarity with high-level programming languages such as Go, Kotlin, C#, Python, and Java.

• Knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and React.

• Experience with containerized applications (Docker) is an advantage.

• Proficient in cloud services, including setup, architecture, and deployment.

• Familiar with AI-assisted workflows.

• Regularly utilizes AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) as an essential part of daily development.

• Comfortable working with agentic coding workflows where AI tools autonomously manage multi-step tasks.

• Capable of critically assessing, testing, and taking full responsibility for AI-generated code—recognizing its limitations and knowing when to be cautious.

• Possess an innovative, big-picture mindset while being pragmatic about technical details.

• Skilled at simplifying, dissecting, and focusing on the essential elements of challenges to drive towards iterative solutions.

• Exhibit strong communication abilities and work effectively within a cross-functional team, including collaboration with non-technical colleagues.
