Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Assisting in the integration of DPU hardware and software into Akamai's compute and GPU server platforms, which encompasses PCIe, networking, storage, and manageability interfaces.

• Implementing validation strategies for DPU platforms, involving functional, performance, interoperability, stress, and reliability testing tailored for data-center-scale applications.

• Developing and maintaining automation, scripts, and testing tools to exercise DPUs, gather telemetry on a large scale, and summarize findings for stakeholders.

• Designing and validating networking and offload features, including RDMA/RoCE, L2/L3/L4 Ethernet/IP forwarding, SR-IOV/virtio-net/vDPA, overlay networks, and behaviors related to congestion control.

• Collaborating with Kernel, Network Engineering, SDN, Storage, Security, and Cloud teams to align testing environments and Service Level Objectives (SLOs).

• Partnering with component and silicon vendors to troubleshoot issues, capture detailed traces, and validate firmware and feature enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess over 5 years of relevant experience along with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related discipline.

• Acquire hands-on experience with server and networking hardware, including data center NICs, SmartNICs, DPUs, and their integration into x86 or ARM systems.

• Be well-versed in PCIe, SR-IOV, virtualization, and Linux, and comfortable navigating across hardware, firmware, and software domains.

• Have a solid grasp of L2/L3/L4 networking principles and data center technologies such as VXLAN, BGP, RDMA/RoCE, congestion control, and ECMP.

• Exhibit proficiency in hardware and platform validation, conducting tests, system stress evaluations, and automation through Python or Bash scripting.

• Communicate effectively in English, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and adapt to a hybrid work model requiring three on-site days each week.
