Senior Software Engineer – Android

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Enhance and advance the Android stack, focusing on networking, analytics, experiments, modular app architecture, and testing frameworks.

• Directly contribute to the development of Nextdoor’s product.

• Create features and infrastructure for the Android application.

• Design delightful, polished, and error-free user-facing functionalities.

• Consistently and swiftly deliver features.

• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.

• Assist in fostering a positive engineering culture.

• Contribute throughout the application, from UI elements to the analytics framework.

• Conduct code testing using frameworks like JUnit, MockK, and Roborazzi.

• Collaborate effectively with developers, product managers, and designers.

• Integrate AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, and Glean into the workflow, taking ownership of AI-assisted outputs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as an Engineer and/or capability to perform at an advanced level in the field.

• Proven ability to deliver delightful, polished, and bug-free features while consistently shipping quickly.

• A desire to mentor junior engineers and contribute to enhancing engineering culture.

• Strong self-motivation and adaptability.

• Capability to improve any aspect of the app, from UI components to the analytics framework.

• Experience in testing code with JUnit, MockK, and Roborazzi.

• Regular use of AI tools like Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, and Glean in the workflow.

• Proficiency in Kotlin (bonus).

• Familiarity with OkHttp, Retrofit, and Apollo GraphQL (bonus).

• Understanding of MVI, Coroutines, Mavericks, and Jetpack Compose (bonus).

• Experience with Gradle and Metro for modularization and dependency injection (bonus).
