Senior Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical direction and shape the design, development, testing, and deployment of mobile applications utilizing modern Kotlin-first methodologies.

• Collaborate with product management and design teams to create responsive, polished, and accessible user experiences.

• Track and enhance the health of production applications through crash analytics, performance metrics, and insights from real-world usage.

• Guide engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, knowledge sharing, and collaborative design discussions.

• Develop new applications that modernize and consolidate the existing fleet management portfolio.

• Provide scalable, production-ready mobile experiences for both drivers and fleet managers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional Android development experience.

• Strong expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Gradle, and dependency injection.

• In-depth understanding of contemporary Android architecture patterns and modularization techniques.

• Capability to design and maintain scalable, reusable libraries.

• Significant experience with RESTful APIs and real-time communication patterns.

• Proficient in unit, integration, and UI testing.

• Advanced debugging skills.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions.

• Experience in managing releases on the Google Play Store.

• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and leadership.

• Must live within 30 miles of Boston, MA; San Francisco Bay Area, CA; Dallas, TX; Salt Lake City, UT; Seattle, WA; or Portland, ME.

• Preferred: experience shipping apps to the Google Play Store; knowledge of iOS, Kotlin Multiplatform, Sentry, PostHog, device wallet integration, NFC/BLE, and AI-assisted development tools.
