This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the Pilot Pipeline: Manage the daily operations of the pilot program by actively curating the best aggregated content from the main team and guiding social producers on efficiently transforming it into video formats.
• Development of Formats: Work closely with the VP of Content Development to create, test, and refine unique, repeatable structures for short-form and medium-form video commentary.
• Coaching Talent: Mentor on-camera hosts and voiceover talent to cultivate a precise, authoritative, yet culturally relevant tone for commentary and analysis.
• Scripting and Storyboarding: Edit and enhance short-form scripts and video outlines to guarantee that commentary is engaging, legally compliant, and optimized for viewer retention.
• Collaboration Across Functions: Collaborate with the wider newsroom, video editors, and leadership to effectively incorporate the pilot workflow into daily operations without disrupting core activities.
• Tracking Performance: Assess real-time audience engagement, comment sentiment, and retention metrics alongside leadership to adjust formats swiftly during the experimental phase.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Digital Media, Communications, Film/Television Production, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent practical experience with a strong portfolio.
• At least 4 years of experience as a digital video producer, social media editor, or content manager, specifically in high-volume production of short-form video content (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts).
• Demonstrated success in a dynamic media environment (e.g., breaking entertainment news, celebrity culture, or lifestyle media) managing a fast-paced production pipeline.
• Proven experience in talent coaching and production leadership, with the ability to direct social producers, video editors, and guide on-camera/voiceover talent to achieve a specific brand voice.
