Senior Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance Webshare's production infrastructure by leading the transition from Docker Swarm to Kubernetes (or a hybrid of K8s and Ansible).

• Ensure high availability across hundreds of servers and approximately 50 services.

• Collaborate with the development team to drive observability.

• Establish and enforce Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, ensure CI/CD pipeline reliability, and implement change management procedures.

• Engage in the on-call rotation alongside backend developers.

• Lead incident resolution efforts, conduct post-mortems, and promote systematic remediation.

• Contribute to platform tooling that enhances the developer experience and minimizes infrastructure toil.

• Keep backend engineers informed and capable, fostering a culture of shared infrastructure ownership without silos.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building and managing highly available infrastructure at a similar scale—hundreds of servers, multiple services, and real production load.

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in self-hosted or bare-metal environments.

• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code practices.

• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines from end to end (GitLab CI or a similar tool).

• Prior experience being on-call in a production setting.

• Proactive in identifying issues before they arise and keeping the team informed without needing reminders.

• Strong scripting and development skills.
