Senior Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Enhance and broaden our current security initiatives, which include threat modeling, risk mitigation, observability, and incident response. Oversee and implement security projects based on both internal and external inputs, such as our bug bounty program, penetration testing, or other gap analyses.

• Drive security enhancements both independently and in partnership with our teams. Establish the benchmarks for how new code is deployed to align with our security requirements.

• Promote a culture of security awareness. Foster a sense of security ownership grounded in shared values.

• Oversee security roadmaps from an organization-wide perspective to address the needs of various stakeholders, including enterprise sales enablement.

• Operate mainly within an AWS cloud environment while also utilizing some Google Cloud Platform services. Our services are developed using Django and are continuously deployed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in application security or related areas, with a strong capability to collaborate with application development teams.

• Familiarity with contemporary security practices and technologies.

• Understanding of security within the context of cloud providers (primarily AWS with some GCP services) and the ability to guide us towards a Zero Trust architecture.

• Experience in managing infrastructure as code using automation tools like Terraform.

• Expertise in threat modeling, architecture design review processes, and familiarity with common attack vectors and exploitation techniques.

• Excellent communication skills, able to convey security concerns and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Knowledge of security best practices for mobile and web application development.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
