Senior Regulatory Affairs Licensing Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee the execution of diverse regulatory work scopes.

• Coordinate and compile Licensing Topical Reports (LTRs).

• Generate licensing documentation and reports to support customer License Amendment Request (LAR) applications.

• Conduct verification of task reports and engineering contributions.

• Assist in customer evaluations under 10 CFR 50.59.

• Engage with customers and regulatory personnel regarding regulatory matters.

• Obtain necessary permissions and approvals concerning project scopes.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a science or engineering field from an accredited institution.

• At least 5 years of direct experience in nuclear licensing, including leading complex projects.

• Direct experience and expertise in 10 CFR Part 21.

• Ability to provide regulatory guidance and direction to contributing functions (e.g., Engineering).

• Willingness and capability to travel occasionally.

• Knowledge of the NRC Licensing process and regulatory framework.

• Technical expertise in one or more areas such as nuclear fuel, operating plants, etc.

• Exceptional technical writing abilities.

• Strong oral communication skills with the capacity to create technical reports for diverse audiences.

• Familiarity with Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) systems, fuel, or operations.

• Proven experience and effectiveness in collaborating and communicating with NRC personnel.

• Background in working with industry groups (e.g., NEI and Owners Groups) on nuclear licensing issues.

• Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.

• Process skills related to the coordination and documentation of complex technical documents.
