Senior Production Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with a dedicated team of engineers to enhance reliability across all aspects of our platform.

• Create, test, integrate, and troubleshoot software applications that are robust, secure, maintainable, and capable of scaling effectively.

• Diagnose a variety of issues on the platform, ranging from Linux environments to Kubernetes clusters.

• Continuously enhance WP Engine’s secure and high-performing platform, serving tens of millions of end users.

• Utilize and refine WP Engine's continuous integration and delivery pipelines to securely and swiftly deploy new code to production.

• Expand and optimize observability services to support engineering and assistance efforts by developing improved feedback loops.

• Work with the VictoriaMetrics monitoring platform to oversee multiple systems that serve a large number of sites.

• Create and uphold automation tools to reduce manual effort and boost operational efficiency.

• Provide and receive constructive feedback effectively both within your team and across the organization.

• Engage in on-call rotations and identify/implement solutions to minimize production disruptions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in a production engineering role (or similar) emphasizing monitoring and ensuring reliable systems.

• Proficient in programming, preferably in Python or Golang.

• Solid understanding of networking within cloud environments.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), and standard tools (Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, Jenkins, Ansible).

• Strong foundation in Linux.

• Experience with cloud technologies and services, ideally GCP or AWS.

• Background in a Kubernetes environment at enterprise scale.

• Proactive mindset with natural problem-solving skills, an inquisitive nature, a commitment to ongoing learning, and a willingness to tackle significant challenges despite uncertain requirements.

• On-call experience for critical services with proficient troubleshooting abilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a related field) or equivalent experience.
