Senior Production Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Foster an engineering culture that prioritizes delivery while upholding exceptional standards of stability, performance, security, and scalability.

• Oversee, alert, investigate, and resolve challenges related to production infrastructure across public cloud environments, including GCP and AWS.

• Proactively identify opportunities and implement automated, scalable solutions to optimize both code and operational tasks, thereby minimizing toil across the platform.

• Act as a technical liaison during critical incidents, encouraging cross-functional communication, tracking alert trends, and conducting root cause analyses (RCA) to promote structural enhancements.

• Manage production changes and security requests, ensuring safe code deployments and patching pipelines.

• Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering Management to ensure that technical solutions and execution strategies align with business objectives and roadmap priorities.

• Promote a culture of learning and professional growth by coaching, mentoring, and elevating exceptional engineers throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) with expertise in building and managing production-ready configurations at internet scale.

• Proven background in system architecture, distributed microservices, and self-healing systems with effective resource and network utilization.

• Advanced proficiency in executing containerized workloads using Kubernetes orchestration and Docker across public cloud service providers.

• Skilled in structural and automated scripting with object-oriented programming languages, with a strong preference for Python and Go.

• Comprehensive understanding of the modern web serving stack and infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Linux, Nginx/Apache, MySQL, PHP, Ansible, Terraform).

• Practical experience in implementing metrics, monitoring, and alerting systems (such as Prometheus or EFK stacks) to enhance infrastructure visibility.

• An innovative learner with excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills who thrives in a team-oriented environment.
