This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Facilitate individual and group educational sessions with providers to clarify observed billing trends, coding standards, and best practices.
• Emphasize the importance of proper documentation standards to ensure accurate code selection and reimbursement.
• Simplify intricate coding and reimbursement guidelines into straightforward, actionable advice suited to provider workflows.
• Conduct thorough audits of outpatient medical records to evaluate the accuracy of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding, as well as adherence to payer policies and regulatory standards.
• Detect trends in coding discrepancies, documentation inadequacies, and possible compliance risks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• At least 5 years of experience in outpatient coding, auditing, or compliance.
• Current certification from AAPC (e.g., CPC, CPMA) or AHIMA (e.g., CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA).
• In-depth knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems, along with CMS and payer reimbursement processes.
• Proven experience in auditing E/M services and various outpatient procedures.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in provider education or clinical documentation improvement (CDI).
• Experience collaborating directly with physicians, advanced practice providers, and behavioral health clinicians.
• Background in healthcare analytics or initiatives aimed at performance enhancement.
