This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Senior Lead Internal Auditor is responsible for leading audits through the planning, execution, and reporting of auditing activities.
• Evaluates and reviews the design and effectiveness of internal controls.
• Oversees the work of audit staff and communicates the outcomes of audits to management.
• Assists in operational audits, focusing on compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and landfill operations.
• Plans and conducts assessments of corporate and field processes; develops audit programs and documentation.
• Takes a leading role in planning and defining the scope of corporate audits based on an understanding of relevant processes.
• Engages in discussions about audit findings with senior management, both in written and verbal formats, and suggests corrective measures.
• Analyzes Company processes and systems by assessing control risks and identifying gaps.
• Participates in developing and refining audit methodologies.
• Leads the initial planning stage of an audit concerning the proposed scope of Internal Audit testing.
• A minimum of 4-6 years of audit or accounting experience at a Big 4 firm or a Fortune 500 company.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Project Management Professional (PMP), or other pertinent certifications are preferred.
• Experience in Public Accounting is preferred.
• Familiarity with ACL, IDEA, or other data analysis software is preferred.
