Senior NodeJS Developer, Contractual

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain scalable applications utilizing NodeJS, TypeScript, MongoDB, Docker, and related technologies.

• Engage actively in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from design to deployment and support.

• Work collaboratively with developers, designers, QA, and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality features and enhancements.

• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and estimation sessions.

• Evaluate technical designs, requirements, and specifications to provide constructive feedback and ensure engineering excellence.

• Recognize technical risks, dependencies, and architectural aspects early in the development phase.

• Advocate for engineering best practices in CI/CD, testing, observability, security, and code quality.

• Contribute to architectural strategy and support decisions for scalable, maintainable system designs.

• Develop and maintain real-time, event-driven, and data-intensive platform capabilities.

• Take part in an on-call support rotation and assist in incident resolution and operational stability.

• Collaborate across business and technical teams to align engineering outcomes with commercial and customer goals.

• Encourage knowledge sharing, documentation, and continuous improvement throughout the engineering organization.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance engineering productivity and delivery efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive professional experience with NodeJS and TypeScript in production settings.

• Strong background in MongoDB and NoSQL database design, including:

• Schema modeling

• Indexing strategies

• Aggregation pipelines

• Performance optimization

• Practical experience with Docker and containerized application development.

• Experience in designing and building scalable backend systems and APIs.

• Deep understanding of event-driven architectures and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with real-time, data-driven SaaS platforms.

• Solid grasp of software architecture and the ability to contribute to architectural decision-making.

• Strong knowledge of engineering best practices, including:

• CI/CD pipelines

• Code reviews

• Automated testing

• Observability and monitoring

• Performance optimization

• Security practices

• Understanding of OWASP Top 10 security vulnerabilities and their mitigation techniques.

• Experience working within Agile software development environments.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

• Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

• Ability to troubleshoot issues to resolution in production environments.

• Experience integrating AI development tools into engineering processes with measurable results.
