This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +4 more states.
• Create, implement, and sustain impactful territory plans, which include HCP and Investigator engagement strategies that align with the medical and scientific objectives of the therapeutic area, emphasizing quality.
• Assist in clinical development and research activities across development at the request of R&D, which encompasses, but is not limited to, site evaluation and identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, and involving experts to produce scientific data, including investigator-sponsored trials.
• Recognize, establish access to, and cultivate customer-centric professional relationships with external experts in Immuno-Oncology within the designated geography.
• Provide education on disease states, therapeutic landscapes, and Summit Therapeutics products throughout the product lifecycle to healthcare providers and researchers.
• Engage in, monitor, and deliver insights to Summit from pertinent scientific meetings within the relevant geography.
• Continuously pursue self-education regarding market issues/trends, product knowledge, and emerging therapeutic areas of interest that relate to specific business responsibilities, while fostering awareness and relationships for Summit Therapeutics within the Medical community.
• Actively take part in relevant team meetings, organizational activities, and country-driven medical affairs initiatives (e.g., advisory boards, masterclasses, roundtables).
• Establish, maintain, and collaborate in relationships with cross-functional partners, as appropriate, to develop and implement Account plans aimed at supporting and achieving shared scientific or business objectives.
• Perform all other responsibilities as assigned.
• Doctoral degree in health sciences from an accredited institution is required (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent).
• Significant clinical and/or industry experience in oncology and the cancer therapeutic area may be considered in lieu of educational qualifications.
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience with solid tumors in cancer.
• At least 5+ years of clinical, scientific/research, or industry-related experience or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a Medical Science Liaison role.
• Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry within a relevant scientific discipline is highly preferred.
• Ability to understand, analyze, and communicate complex scientific concepts and data.
• Proficient in building credible relationships with prominent healthcare professionals.
• Capability to independently identify and convert corporate needs into actionable plans that will meet objectives.
• Self-motivated to achieve and surpass goals.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
• Effective critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Proficient in using the standard MS Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel), with desirable experience in electronic document management systems and document review tools.
• Strong computer and database skills.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
• Clear and concise oral and written communication abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must effectively manage multiple tasks and handle time-sensitive and highly confidential documents.
• Ability to prioritize conflicting demands.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced, demanding, and collaborative environment.
• Actual compensation packages are determined by various factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
• Compensation may vary in different locations due to differences in labor costs.
• The total compensation package for this position may also include bonuses, stock options, benefits, and/or other applicable variable compensation.
