This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +15 more states.
• Lead a group of DevOps engineers, overseeing performance management, growth strategies, and career development.
• Take ownership of the DevOps team's roadmap in collaboration with the Director of Platform Engineering, which includes setting quarterly priorities and planning capacity.
• Facilitate technical decisions and conduct architecture reviews for CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and platform tools.
• Work together with engineering, data platform, data governance, and ITOps leadership on cross-functional projects and shared standards.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design critiques, and retrospective analyses of incidents.
• Represent the team in executive meetings, including roadmap evaluations, FinOps reporting, and architecture councils.
• Collaborate with the Director of Platform Engineering on governance for AI tools, focusing on the standardization of approved platforms, usage policies, and assessing the impact on engineering productivity.
• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions, which includes reusable workflows, self-hosted runners, and security measures.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform across multiple AWS accounts.
• Administer Kubernetes (EKS) clusters, including GitOps delivery based on ArgoCD, ingress management, observability, and security policies.
• Oversee secrets management with HashiCorp Vault, involving dynamic credentials, JWT/OIDC authentication, and integration with External Secrets Operator.
• Develop and maintain observability tools using Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and Kubernetes-native monitoring solutions.
• Lead incident response efforts and conduct post-incident reviews, including writing runbooks and driving reliability enhancements.
• Establish security controls, governance processes, and compliance checks across the platform.
• Contribute to AWS network architecture, including PrivateLink, VPCs, and cross-account access strategies.
• Over 7 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering, with a minimum of 2 years in a technical lead or team lead role.
• Proven track record as a working manager or technical lead who effectively balances individual contributions with team leadership.
• Extensive experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform, including modules, state management, and multi-account setups within AWS Organizations.
• Practical experience operating Kubernetes (preferably EKS) and implementing GitOps delivery, ideally with ArgoCD or Flux.
• Strong background in CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions, including security scanning, artifact management, and self-hosted runners.
• Proficient in scripting with Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault or similar secrets management solutions.
• Experience with cloud networking, including VPCs, private connectivity, DNS, and identity-based access controls.
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or their equivalents.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
