Senior iOS Engineer, Swift

📋 Description

• Become a part of our client's mobile team as an embedded engineer, developing new features for their flagship iOS news application.

• Collaborate within their Jira board, participate in standup meetings, and deploy code alongside the internal team.

• Manage back-end services for the native Swift layer.

• Implement a redesigned home screen featuring dynamic, customizable content feeds.

• Enhance navigation throughout the application.

• Integrate audio functionalities for continuous playback and support for CarPlay (AVFoundation).

• Enable vertical video playback.

• Create brand destinations for Food and Sports, including a Discover map and live scoreboards.

• Conduct an architectural review of the current ~85K-line Swift codebase during the design sprint.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of production experience with Swift in consumer-facing iOS applications.

• Proficient in UIKit (the current codebase utilizes UIKit, not SwiftUI).

• Experience with GraphQL clients, particularly the Apollo iOS SDK.

• Familiarity with the Coordinator pattern and MVC architecture.

• Background in WKWebView integration and native-to-web bridge patterns (WKScriptMessageHandler).

• Knowledge of audio/video playback using AVFoundation.

• Proficient in CocoaPods for dependency management.

• Comfortable navigating a large existing codebase within an established team.
