Senior iOS Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assist in maintaining, developing, and enhancing our iOS application.

• Collaborate closely with team members to fine-tune ideas, identify edge cases, and propose solutions.

• Pose insightful questions, respectfully challenge assumptions, and outline technical trade-offs.

• Take responsibility for outcomes, remaining engaged through testing and real-world feedback.

• Proficient in working with Xcode, UIKit, SwiftUI, Core Data, or SQLite.

• Work in partnership with the team to accelerate progress and advance the app.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of professional experience in building or maintaining a shipping native iOS application using a combination of Swift and Objective-C, with ownership of significant features or technical systems.

• Capability to translate product requirements into technical and UX alternatives.

• A collaborative attitude and a willingness to respectfully question requirements, highlight overlooked edge cases, and suggest simpler or more effective solutions.

• Strong ownership qualities that encompass the entire process from planning and implementation to ongoing support post-release.

• Experience in writing UI automation tests.

• Ability to diagnose nondeterministic failures related to asynchronous behavior, networking, and discrepancies between simulators and actual devices.

• Proficient in utilizing Xcode’s Instruments suite to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, UI delays, and memory leaks.

• Experience in diagnosing issues through crash reporting, logging, analytics, and CI or automated test outputs.

• Capable of balancing human- and LLM-driven software development workflows, bringing experience, judgment, and curiosity to the process while maintaining ownership of the outcomes and results.

• Strong ability to articulate ideas, opinions, and technical details clearly in written English.

• Availability to work from 9 AM to 5 PM Eastern, Central, or Mountain Time to enable real-time collaboration as needed.
