Senior Internal Auditor – Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Support the identification, analysis, and evaluation of risk across Mercury.

• Define and plan audits related to finance and accounting functions.

• Perform process walkthroughs and carry out audit testing to verify the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls.

• Evaluate compliance with Mercury’s regulatory obligations (including regulatory and financial reporting).

• Share, document, and report any audit findings identified.

• Work collaboratively with teams to formulate suitable action plans, monitor the remediation of audit issues, and perform follow-up testing on these issues.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in scoping and planning new, complex audits.

• Background in leading audit teams and mentoring team members.

• Proficient in conducting walkthroughs, developing audit test plans, and performing internal controls testing.

• Experience in managing finance and accounting audits.

• Knowledge and experience in auditing SOX, GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory reporting standards.

• Experience working with financial services firms, with a solid understanding of laws, regulations, and risk management standards in that sector.

• Ability to quickly comprehend and navigate complex business processes.

• Skilled in building relationships and partnerships, working cross-functionally to achieve time-sensitive deliverables, track issues, and report on them.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Capable of managing their own schedule to meet deadlines effectively.

• Self-motivated and innovative, with a focus on finding more efficient and effective methods to improve processes.

• Possession of relevant certifications (CISA, CIA, CPA, etc.).
