Senior Internal Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Support the identification, analysis, and evaluation of risks across Mercury while contributing to the creation of the annual audit plan.

• Define the scope and plan various audits pertaining to Mercury’s products and operations.

• Carry out process walkthroughs and perform audit testing to verify the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls.

• Evaluate adherence to Mercury’s compliance requirements.

• Communicate, document, and report any audit issues that are discovered.

• Work collaboratively with teams to formulate suitable action plans, monitor the remediation of audit issues, and conduct follow-up testing on those issues.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess experience in scoping and planning new, complex audits.

• Have a background in leading audit teams and mentoring team members.

• Be adept at conducting walkthroughs, developing audit test plans, and executing internal controls testing.

• Have experience with financial services organizations, along with a solid understanding of laws, regulations, and risk management standards relevant to financial services.

• Have knowledge in auditing BSA/AML/Sanctions compliance, as well as payments (wires / ACH) and/or card products.

• Demonstrate the ability to quickly comprehend and analyze intricate business processes.

• Be capable of establishing relationships and partnerships, and work across various functions to manage time-sensitive deliverables, track issues, and report progress.

• Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Be capable of managing one’s own schedule to ensure deadlines are consistently met.

• Be a self-motivated individual who enjoys innovating and considering new methods to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
