This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• As an engineer, you will be responsible for developing the integration domain of the Personal.manager (PM) rather than just configuring middleware.
• Create REST endpoints for master data and lookups, along with event- and webhook-based outputs for transactional data such as absences, time entries, shift schedules, entitlements, and payroll-relevant status changes.
• Implement the DB outbox pattern, along with worker logic, retry mechanisms, and dead-letter handling.
• Integrate with EMQX to serve as an internal event bus.
• Ensure versioned payload contracts and maintain an auditable integration history.
• Develop flows programmatically by using custom scripts, adapter logic, and transformations, ensuring that PM ↔ SAP mappings are both testable and versioned.
• Establish clear error communication channels and coordinate technical aspects with our clients’ SAP teams.
• You engage in daily coding activities.
• You have a strong background in building REST APIs and event-driven integrations using Node.js/TypeScript or a similar technology stack.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL is essential.
• You possess practical knowledge of the components that contribute to robust integrations, including the outbox pattern, idempotency, retry strategies, dead-letter queues, webhooks, and MQTT/AMQP brokers like EMQX, RabbitMQ, and Kafka, as well as structured logging, correlation IDs, and versioned contracts.
• You view interfaces as systems governed by clear contracts.
• For you, an integration is not considered “complete” until it can operate unattended overnight, recover from errors, and make events transparent.
• Experience with SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration / CPI), especially its programmatic extension points such as Groovy scripting, custom adapters, and custom flow logic is highly valued.
• Background in regulated customer environments, including DMZ gateways and audit-compliant logging, is preferred.
• Knowledge of SaaS platform architectures, API design, and event-driven architectures is beneficial.
• Enjoy the flexibility of working 100% remote, in a hybrid model, or on-site in St. Wendel.
• Receive a competitive salary that reflects your experience and responsibilities.
• Benefit from 30 days of vacation.
• Work in a modern office equipped with a shower, washing machine, and an espresso machine.
