Senior GCP Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable data pipelines and APIs utilizing Google Cloud Platform.

• Create automated workflows and data platforms that facilitate analytics, reporting, and AI/ML applications.

• Apply best practices for data security, governance, CI/CD, and automated deployment processes.

• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders effectively.

• Generate high-quality, reusable code and guide team members in best practices.

• Assist with testing, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting in production environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in IT.

• At least 5 years in Data Architecture.

• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.

• Over 2 years of experience in API development.

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities.

• Extensive experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow/Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and APIs.

• Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT, and streaming architectures.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git/GitHub, and Agile methodologies.

• Strong communication skills with the capability to mentor junior engineers.

• Experience with Apigee, Python (FastAPI), Spark, Kafka, and Vertex AI is preferred.

• Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer Certification is preferred.

• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is required (Master’s degree is preferred).
