This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead decisions related to system design and architecture with a focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Create and develop applications across backend (Java, Spring Boot, APIs), frontend (React/Angular), and database (PostgreSQL).
• Serve as a technical liaison, translating business needs into effective solutions.
• Perform regular code reviews and uphold standards to ensure performance, security, and maintainability.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve intricate system and application challenges.
• Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and business teams to guarantee smooth delivery.
• Guide developers, assign tasks, and ensure timely project completion.
• Engage throughout the entire software lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Apply testing methodologies using tools such as JUnit, Cypress, and Playwright.
• Adhere to Agile best practices and proactively mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Keep abreast of technological advancements to enhance development processes and architecture.
• Assume additional tasks and responsibilities as necessary to support team goals and project success.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of pertinent experience as a Full Stack Java Developer.
• Proficient in Java (17+), Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, React or Angular, PostgreSQL/SQL, and Python.
• Experience in mentoring developers and leading engineering teams.
• Capability to design and work with scalable, distributed systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Background working with the VA or other Government agencies.
• Relevant certifications in Java, Cloud, or Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong grasp of system performance, scalability, and observability.
• Eligibility to obtain government clearance.
