Senior Front End Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to define, develop, and enhance user experiences utilizing contemporary frontend technologies.

• Take ownership of and advance the frontend architecture to guarantee scalability, performance, accessibility, and long-term maintainability.

• Spearhead the design and execution of sophisticated frontend systems using React, TypeScript, and Next.js, encompassing SSR, routing, data fetching, and performance enhancements.

• Establish and maintain frontend engineering standards, including patterns, tools, testing methodologies, and CI/CD best practices.

• Propel cross-team technical initiatives, ensuring alignment of frontend architecture with backend APIs, platform capabilities, and product strategies.

• Proactively identify technical risks and opportunities, offering clear technical guidance and trade-off analyses.

• Mentor and coach frontend engineers, elevating the standards of code quality, architectural insight, and delivery practices.

• Design and implement comprehensive unit, integration, and UI automation tests to guarantee reliability and confidence at scale.

• Define and track frontend metrics (performance, reliability, user behavior) to guide product and technical decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher, such as MS or PhD) in Computer Science or a related technical field that involves coding, or equivalent technical experience.

• Expert-level knowledge in modern frontend development, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js.

• Strong background in frontend architecture, focusing on state management, component design, design systems, micro-frontends (or modular architectures), and performance optimization.

• Experience in building and maintaining production web applications utilizing both server-side and client-side rendering.

• Profound understanding of software engineering best practices throughout the SDLC, including testing, code reviews, observability, and operational excellence.

• Over 4 years of industry experience, with significant expertise in frontend or web platform development.

• Experience in cloud-based environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), especially regarding frontend delivery and integration.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, LLMs) is considered a plus.
