This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Proactively originate, pursue, and secure engagements in remediation, environmental liability, and waste management without depending on internally generated opportunities.
• Act as the primary client owner, accountable for repeat business, client growth, and establishing long-term relationships.
• Identify opportunities within insurance, industrial, energy, manufacturing, and transactional advisory sectors, including tasks related to remediation, liability assessment, redevelopment, and sustainable environmental programs.
• Oversee extensive and intricate waste and remediation projects, encompassing multi-site portfolios, corrective action sites, redevelopment-driven remediation, CCR facilities, landfills, and long-term program engagements.
• Manage projects initiated directly by the Senior Technical Director from the pursuit phase through to execution and closure.
• Hold responsibility for scope management, budgeting, scheduling, and ensuring profitability.
• Offer senior-level technical guidance on remediation strategies, corrective actions, regulatory negotiations, and closure planning.
• Spearhead the development of conceptual site models, analyses of remedial alternatives, cost-to-closure estimates, and liability frameworks.
• Collaborate with teams specializing in hydrogeology, geochemistry, risk assessment, and transactional advisory.
• Engage directly with regulatory bodies (EPA, state agencies, etc.) regarding remedial strategies, permitting, and closure processes.
• Assist clients in navigating enforcement actions, consent orders, corrective actions, and redevelopment negotiations.
• Provide technical expertise on environmental due diligence and transaction advisory, covering aspects like environmental liability assessments, remediation risk evaluations, and pre- and post-acquisition planning.
• Deliver remediation and regulatory strategies to support redevelopment and brownfield projects, ensuring alignment with development timelines and closure milestones.
• Offer advisory services related to environmental claims, which include reviewing and validating remediation costs and providing technical support to insurance and legal teams.
• Mentor and develop technical staff while establishing a sustainable pipeline of work to enhance utilization and growth.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline; advanced degrees and professional licensure (PG, PE) are preferred.
• 10 to 15+ years of consulting experience in waste management, remediation, corrective action, or environmental liability advisory.
• Proven expertise with regulatory frameworks such as RCRA, CERCLA, CCR Rule, state corrective action programs, and risk-based closure practices.
• A successful history of originating consulting work and maintaining long-term client relationships in an external consulting context.
• Demonstrated capability to articulate an active pipeline of client opportunities within waste, remediation, and environmental liability services.
• Experience acting as the primary client contact, responsible for pursuit strategies, pricing, and repeat business.
• Ability to manage complex technical projects while ensuring profitability and adhering to schedules.
• Strong technical writing, quality assurance/control, and presentation abilities.
• Demonstrated business acumen regarding opportunity selection, client development, and service-line expansion.
