This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Deliver senior-level environmental compliance assistance for facilities in the industrial and energy sectors.

• Aid clients in managing their obligations related to air quality, storm water, wastewater, spill prevention, waste management, and associated regulatory requirements.

• Prepare, review, and support permit applications, renewals, modifications, technical reports, and routine compliance submissions to state and federal regulatory agencies.

• Offer technical support for air compliance initiatives, which includes emissions inventories, stack testing coordination, permit reporting, visible emissions observations, and the implementation of applicable federal and state air requirements.

• Create, evaluate, and uphold SPCC Plans, SWPPPs, and relevant compliance plans; provide technical oversight and certification support when professional engineer credentials are necessary.

• Conduct or assist with environmental inspections, compliance audits, and field assessments, and generate clear, defensible documentation for clients and regulatory agencies.

• Facilitate coordination with regulatory agencies during inspections, permit actions, incident responses, and follow-up communications.

• Assist with spill response, remediation, waste handling, and corrective action activities, including notifications, documentation, and contractor oversight.

• Oversee assigned project tasks, schedules, budgets, and the quality of deliverables for environmental compliance, permitting, and related consulting tasks.

• Provide technical direction to project teams and contribute specialized expertise as required to support client delivery.

• Collaborate with clients, operational staff, contractors, and interdisciplinary teams to provide practical, client-focused environmental solutions.


⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of environmental compliance programs for industrial, manufacturing, or oil and gas operations, including air quality, storm water, wastewater, spill prevention, and waste management.

• Experience in preparing and implementing SPCC Plans, SWPPPs, permit applications, compliance reports, and related environmental documentation.

• Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations, along with the capability to interpret requirements, identify compliance risks, and create practical, client-focused compliance strategies.

• Experience in supporting or leading agency inspections, compliance audits, incident responses, and corrective action documentation.

• Background in air compliance activities such as emissions inventories, stack testing coordination, visible emissions observations, permit reporting, and compliance evaluations.

• Proven ability to work independently, quickly engage with projects, and manage multiple assignments while ensuring technical quality, schedules, and budgets are maintained.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports and client-ready deliverables.

• Established ability to cultivate strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, operational staff, and regulatory agencies.

• Experience in providing technical guidance to project teams and contributing effectively in a flexible, collaborative consulting environment.

• Professional Engineer licensure is highly preferred; multi-state licensure or the ability to obtain additional registrations is advantageous.

• An advanced degree in engineering or a related discipline is preferred.

• A good driving record and a valid Driver's License are required.
