Senior Engineering Manager, Retailer Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 12 engineers that are primarily senior-level, working across various workstreams.

• Establish clear architectural guidelines and execution strategies.

• Facilitate the integration of specialized retailer-vertical services onto a cohesive Instacart platform infrastructure.

• Collaborate with Machine Learning and Data Engineering teams to ensure long-term compliance of the enterprise data platform.

• Provide self-service tools for both retailers and internal teams.

• Advocate for technical and product decisions among various engineering and product departments.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering.

• At least 3 years of experience managing engineering teams that deliver platform or infrastructure solutions in a B2B or enterprise setting.

• Proven experience leading teams of 10 or more engineers, including responsibilities for hiring, performance evaluation, and career growth of senior individual contributors.

• Evidence of success in navigating ambiguous, fast-paced growth environments.

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives that influence results across various engineering and product teams.

• Technical expertise in distributed systems, API/SDK architecture, and cloud infrastructure (such as AWS or GCP).

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
