Senior Editor – Plant Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee coverage for the Plant Engineering brand, focusing on engineering processes and technologies that impact industrial plant operations and maintenance.

• Define coverage across both online and print platforms while cultivating a distinctive digital storytelling voice.

• Leverage website analytics, social media insights, newsletters, and performance metrics to comprehend audience behavior and enhance content strategy.

• Publish news articles, features, interview-based content, and various materials on PlantEngineering.com.

• Discover and propose story ideas centered on research trends, technological advancements, and industry developments.

• Meet daily social media engagement requirements and interact with audiences through these platforms.

• Comply with Arrowfly’s journalistic and quality standards.

• Assist with print editions, significant projects, live and digital events, and other initiatives within the Engineering portfolio.

• Provide support for webinars and podcasts.

• Address requests from sales managers, including the provision of industry insights.

• Travel to industry trade shows, corporate meetings, events, and customer engagements as necessary.

• Collaborate with contributors, subject matter experts, editors, designers, brand leaders, and various departments.

• Write and refine content for the website and social media platforms.

• Report on industry news and emerging trends.

• Assist with special projects as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Journalism or Communications is required.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in writing, editing, and content creation is essential.

• Capability to translate technical subjects into clear, concise, and AI-defensible content.

• Strong editing skills for technical written content are necessary.

• Ability to juggle multiple tasks, troubleshoot issues, and consistently meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

• Experience writing for publications is highly preferred.

• Background in the engineering industry is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with WordPress is desirable.

• Video editing experience is preferred.

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop, is a plus.

• Excellent verbal communication skills, including comfort speaking on camera.

• Knowledge of SEO and GEO to create a content journey that drives audience engagement, clicks, and traffic.

• Proficient in using social media for audience interaction.

• Familiarity with Google Analytics or other website monitoring tools is beneficial.

• Willingness and capability to travel occasionally for industry events and client meetings.

• Submission of 2-3 writing samples along with your resume is required.
