This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Define and significantly impact the implementation of a target-state, AI-native architecture that accommodates both core software services and advanced AI Agentic functionalities.
• Set global benchmarks for architectural consistency, ensuring that all platform elements enhance reuse and align with the long-term technology strategy.
• Supervise the architectural design of intricate AI systems, AI enablement strategies, data engineering, and governance mechanisms.
• Grasping the needs of customers and the business is essential for developing strategies that ensure its success.
• Lead, expand, and mentor a diverse team of architects, promoting a culture of engineering excellence and ongoing learning.
• Establish and develop standards and governance frameworks for software platform and infrastructure security to prevent data breaches and guarantee regulatory compliance.
• Act as a mentor and decision-maker for technical teams and business stakeholders, clarifying complex technical trade-offs that create business value.
• Function as the primary "sounding board" for introducing new technologies, third-party integrations, and open-source solutions to maintain the platform's industry leadership.
• Ensure that system and infrastructure architecture achieves high reliability, low latency, and minimal downtime as a key indicator of organizational success.
• Foster a robust culture of innovation and technical excellence throughout the organization.
• Over 15 years of experience in software engineering and architecture, developing products and platforms, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership or directorial role managing Architecture teams.
• Extensive Cloud Expertise: A proven history of designing and implementing distributed, cloud-native architectures, particularly with AWS.
• AI-First Product & Tech Strategies: Experience in creating AI-native products and technologies.
• Strategic Communication: Proven ability to secure approval for large-scale technical changes from both executive leadership and hands-on engineering teams.
• Change Management: Experience driving architectural digital transformations in a rapidly evolving or "unstructured" corporate environment.
• Financial Acumen: Capacity to evaluate technology trade-offs through the perspective of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and ROI.
• Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
