Senior DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish, install, configure, and sustain build infrastructure.

• Manage source control branches effectively.

• Execute periodic builds and deployments to the production environment.

• Collaborate with other IT teams to assess pre-release checklists and coordinate tasks to be completed before, during, and after releases by other teams.

• Work alongside IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve build and deployment challenges during sprints and releases, encompassing deployment targets, databases, certificates, permissions, firewall modifications, IIS configurations, and other system and network dependencies.

• Engage with Development teams to assist in troubleshooting high-priority application issues post-releases.

• Configure and manage application settings and credentials.

• Administer GitHub, including routine maintenance, user management, and security oversight.

• Create and implement policies for source code management within ADO and GitHub, covering branching, merging, and tagging strategies to facilitate frequent releases, concurrent development, and partial fixes.

• Develop and maintain documentation regarding build and release processes.

• Generate metrics and reports for build and release activities.

• Research, assess, propose, and incorporate new tools or processes to enhance the reliability, stability, and efficiency of build and deployment pipelines.

• Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for addressing production-critical issues.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a DevOps Engineering role.

• Intermediate proficiency with cloud infrastructure services, particularly Azure.

• Over 2 years of experience with Kubernetes or similar containerization technologies (AKS).

• More than 2 years of experience with CI/CD tools and platforms such as Azure DevOps, Argo, and Flux.

• Experience in supporting 24x7, high-availability application environments that include web, application, database servers, and load balancing systems.

• Basic to intermediate understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and relational databases.

• Proven experience in a fast-paced, large-scale Agile/Scrum development setting.

• An equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or relevant military experience will be taken into account.
