This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design, enhance, and manage scalable and adaptable cloud architectures for multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
• Consistently evaluate and refine existing infrastructure and architectural choices to eliminate performance, scalability, and operability bottlenecks.
• Create and sustain cloud-native and hybrid solutions, integrating cloud platforms with on-premises systems as necessary.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines that facilitate rapid, secure, and repeatable deployments.
• Advocate for and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices utilizing Terraform.
• Automate the provisioning, configuration, scaling, and recovery processes to minimize manual operational tasks.
• Enhance deployment strategies in collaboration with SRE teams to boost reliability and predictability.
• Design and manage containerized platforms leveraging Docker and Kubernetes.
• Support and advance microservices architectures, ensuring safe deployments, isolation, and scalability.
• Manage and support production and pre-production environments, resolving complex infrastructure challenges.
• Engage in incident response and on-call rotations as necessary, collaborating with SREs to minimize operational toil.
• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for infrastructure, pipelines, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to enhance developer experience, delivery speed, and platform reliability.
• Assist with other tasks or projects as assigned to fulfill team and business objectives.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, or Senior Software Engineer with infrastructure responsibilities.
• Strong practical experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, with AWS or GCP also considered acceptable.
• Demonstrated experience with Kubernetes, ideally AKS, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD systems such as Jenkins and Groovy pipelines, Linux-based systems, and configuration management tools like Ansible.
• Proficient scripting and automation skills using Python and/or Bash.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and fundamentals of cloud networking.
• Comfortable utilizing Git-based workflows such as Bitbucket.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English to effectively collaborate with distributed teams.
• Experience operating or supporting multi-tenant SaaS platforms is advantageous.
• Previous collaboration with SRE teams and familiarity with reliability practices would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, or ELK would be helpful.
• Practical experience with hybrid cloud environments or on-prem integrations would be considered an asset.
• A background in software engineering with experience managing systems end-to-end would be highly valued.
