Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Design and oversee a scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Create and uphold Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Deployment Manager.

• Construct and enhance CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools such as Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.

• Deploy and manage GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) clusters, focusing on autoscaling, monitoring, and security.

• Establish and oversee Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Error Reporting to ensure observability.

• Automate operational tasks with Python programming.

• Ensure adherence to security best practices via IAM, VPC Service Controls, and Cloud Armor.

• Collaborate with development teams to facilitate a microservices architecture and service mesh (e.g., CloudRun, CloudFunction).

• Lead incident response efforts and perform root cause analysis for production-related issues.

• Mentor junior DevOps engineers and contribute to the development of DevOps best practices and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering positions.

• Demonstrable experience with services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.

• Robust knowledge of CI/CD tools and version control systems (e.g., Git).

• Expertise in Terraform, Python, Bash, or other similar scripting languages.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production settings.

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and Splunk.

• Strong grasp of networking, security, and cloud architecture best practices.

• GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect) are desirable.

• Experience with Anthos, Cloud Run, or Cloud Functions.

• Knowledge of GitOps practices and tools like ArgoCD or Flux.

• Experience with hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments.

• Understanding of Agile and DevSecOps methodologies.
