Senior Developer, Zuora Billing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Enhance the capabilities of Zuora Billing through a proactive approach to configure and maintain the Zuora product catalog.

• Create and uphold Zuora workflows and automations utilizing standard platform features and adhering to best practices.

• Expedite configuration, troubleshooting, and solution exploration by leveraging Zuora AI capabilities while ensuring the accuracy, security, and compliance of outputs.

• Design, develop, and support integrations with both upstream and downstream systems using Zuora APIs.

• Provide technical designs, estimates, and delivery plans, collaborating with Solution Architects and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Foster engineering discipline across the team, emphasizing testing, peer reviews, environment hygiene, and operational readiness.

• Diagnose intricate billing issues related to configuration, data, and integrations; conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions.

• Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation and leverage AI tools to enhance draft quality, structure, and completeness.

• Execute and support data migration and cutover activities for changes affecting Zuora Billing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of hands-on experience in implementing, maintaining, and supporting Zuora Billing solutions (e.g., workflows, automations) in a production setting, utilizing standard features and adhering to platform best practices.

• Extensive knowledge of fundamental Zuora concepts: product catalog, rate plan charges, subscriptions/amendments, proration, billing runs, invoicing, credit memos/debit memos, and essential finance/billing controls.

• Expertise in Zuora APIs and data access (e.g., REST APIs, Data Query) with a solid understanding of integration patterns involving CRM/ERP/middleware.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities demonstrated through root cause analysis of configuration, data, and integration challenges.

• Practical experience using AI tools (e.g., Zuora AI, Zuora workflow AI, Microsoft Copilot) to enhance development, documentation, research, and exploring platform functionality while applying sound judgment to ensure accuracy and safeguard sensitive data.

• Experience in creating technical documentation and operational runbooks that facilitate reliable support and knowledge transfer.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams in a global, matrixed environment.

• Professional maturity and the capacity to remain composed in business-critical situations, taking responsibility through to resolution.

• Zuora certifications (e.g., Zuora Billing Administrator, Zuora Billing Consultant, or equivalent).
