Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Enhance our current Snowflake infrastructure by establishing distinct environmental isolation and scalable frameworks that prepare our data for future commercialization and product offerings.

• Utilize tools such as Snowflake Cortex, Cursor, and UiPath to automate workflows, create semantic models, and deploy agents that facilitate quicker time-to-value.

• Establish and oversee strong data quality and observability frameworks to ensure the reliability of pipelines and proactive resolution of issues.

• Design and manage MLOps pipelines to enable the smooth deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management of ML models directly within Snowflake.

• Collaborate closely with colleagues under the Data Engineering Manager to distribute responsibilities across pipeline management, MLOps, and architectural tasks, preventing siloed knowledge and ensuring thorough team coverage.

• Integrate diverse operational components into a cohesive, enterprise-wide semantic model that supports both internal analytics and future data monetization initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of Data Engineering experience with a strong, specialized emphasis on Snowflake's advanced capabilities (such as RBAC, materialized views, dynamic tables, Snowpipe, and stored procedures).

• Advanced skills in SQL and Python, with a solid background in applying software engineering best practices to ELT processes.

• Observability Expertise: Practical experience in implementing data observability and monitoring solutions (like DataDog) to oversee data quality at scale.

• AI & MLOps Exposure: Proven experience in using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Cortex) and familiarity with MLOps principles for deploying machine learning models.

• Pipeline Management: Experience in constructing and sustaining robust, low-touch data pipelines with modern integration and orchestration tools (e.g., Fivetran, AWS Glue, AWS Lambda).
