This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hawaii.
• Empower Rula's analytics teams to effectively utilize AI with internal data while maintaining security and compliance.
• Collaborate with analytics, marketing, and product teams to identify their data requirements and develop systems that enable AI applications to access reliable data on a large scale.
• Establish the standards, infrastructure, and governance necessary for AI-driven experiences throughout the organization, ensuring data remains trustworthy, secure, and user-friendly.
• Directly influence how Rula harnesses AI to enhance decision-making processes and operational efficiency.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline, including managing production data pipelines and systems.
• High proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines, data models, and data platforms.
• Proven ability to convert business needs into technical designs and deliver solutions in collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in independently leading projects from initial design to production deployment and ongoing operational support.
• Knowledge of implementing data security, governance, or access control measures for sensitive information.
• Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), semantic layers, model context protocols (MCPs), or similar technologies.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms like Snowflake, AWS, Spark, Kafka, Iceberg, or equivalent technologies.
• Proficient in using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience working in environments regulated by HIPAA or similar standards.
• Skilled in designing data architectures that allow large language models (LLMs) to securely access and analyze enterprise data.
• Ability to influence technical direction, set engineering standards, and mentor fellow engineers.
