Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• End-to-End Pipeline Engineering: Design, construct, and deploy scalable ETL/ELT pipelines from various source systems into our Snowflake Data Cloud.

• Cloud Infrastructure: Oversee and enhance data flows within an AWS framework (S3, Lambda, IAM), ensuring optimal availability, security, and cost-effectiveness.

• High-Scale Processing: Utilize Databricks and Python (PySpark) to manage intricate data transformations and handle high-volume workloads.

• Implement the Semantic Layer: Collaborate with the team to define, establish, and scale our Semantic Layer (using dbt Semantic Layer, MetricFlow, or similar) to standardize business logic, metrics, and dimensions for all downstream users.

• Model for Truth: Employ dbt to create modular, version-controlled, and thoroughly tested data models that act as the definitive foundation for business intelligence.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a closely related field within a complex, multi-team data setting.

• Data Warehousing: Expert-level knowledge of Snowflake (including clustering, Snowpipe, streams, and tasks) or similar cloud data warehouses.

• Analytics Engineering: Advanced proficiency in dbt and sophisticated SQL transformation logic, with particular experience in constructing semantic models and metric definitions.

• Big Data & Code: Strong Python expertise and practical experience with Databricks for Spark-based orchestration.

• Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience managing data workloads within AWS.

• Version Control: In-depth understanding of Git-based workflows and CI/CD for data.
