Senior Data Engineer – 6 Month Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Construct and oversee data pipelines that support analytics, machine learning workloads, and product-facing applications.

• Advance our data platform in collaboration with cloud platform engineers.

• Create and implement scalable data infrastructure.

• Develop data services and APIs that provide reliable data to product applications.

• Ensure data quality and observability.

• Collaborate with AI engineers, data scientists, analysts, and product teams to comprehend their data requirements.

• Maintain robust data privacy, security, and compliance practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in building and deploying production-grade data systems.

• Strong proficiency in SQL.

• Skilled in Python or another object-oriented programming language (Java, Scala, etc.).

• Knowledge of cloud-native infrastructure, with exposure to tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, or similar infrastructure as code (IaC) and container orchestration tools.

• Experience in designing data APIs or services that make data accessible to applications.

• A thoughtful mindset regarding data quality, privacy, and security.

• Excellent collaboration abilities.

• Practical experience with data pipeline tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt).

• Dedication to enhancing product quality, security, and performance through thorough testing and code reviews.

• Careful attention to creating and maintaining architecture and systems documentation.

• Capability to work across teams to identify and fulfill diverse data requirements.

• Eagerness to stay updated with developments in data engineering practices and technologies.

• Outstanding analytical skills for diagnosing complex data issues and implementing effective solutions.

• Ability to independently deliver medium-sized features.
