Senior Data Architect, Database Engineer

📋 Description

• Evaluate existing homegrown data operations and the production database layer.

• Create a future-state architecture utilizing MongoDB best practices and contemporary data stack technologies.

• Take full ownership of MongoDB performance optimization from start to finish.

• Lead the ongoing maintenance of MongoDB.

• Spearhead the hands-on implementation of essential data infrastructure enhancements.

• Set up frameworks for testing, monitoring, and ensuring data quality.

• Design the data layer to accommodate AI-driven workloads.

• Collaborate with application and ML engineering teams to prepare production data for AI applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, database administration, or analytics engineering, including 3+ years in senior or lead positions.

• Profound, practical expertise in MongoDB at a production scale (Atlas M40+ preferred).

• Proficient in troubleshooting performance issues (such as runaway queries and lock contention).

• Practical experience with vector search and embedding pipelines in production environments.

• Experience in designing data architectures that facilitate RAG, semantic search, or agentic AI workloads.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL.

• Experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

• Hands-on experience in designing and implementing data lakes, data pipelines, and ELT/ETL pipelines at scale.

• Strong grasp of data quality, testing, and monitoring methodologies.
