Senior Data Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of analytics projects in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders from the initial requirements gathering to the final delivery and adoption of enhanced BI solutions.

• Create, test, publish, and sustain Power BI reports and dashboards utilizing data from various sources (Snowflake, Web (API), etc.).

• Oversee Power BI reports after launch by collecting feedback from stakeholders, providing user support, and managing permissions at both the workspace and report levels.

• Transform and analyze diverse data sources from Suvoda’s systems.

• Construct and maintain dbt models within Snowflake to facilitate Power BI reporting.

• Develop and sustain centralized semantic models/Datasets (Power BI) for departmental reporting, which includes custom measures and summary tables.

• Use Power Query to further refine and format data for analytical purposes.

• Utilize AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code) to expedite SQL, dbt, and Power BI development processes.

• Maintain Suvoda’s business glossary by consolidating metrics calculations from Power BI, dbt, and SQL, and cataloging essential system fields with links to relevant terms and definitions.

• Assist the Senior Manager, Data Analytics in testing AI-enabled analytics workflows — such as text-to-SQL on Snowflake — to empower self-service exploration for internal stakeholders.

• Present analytics insights to senior stakeholders and suggest new or revised KPIs to guide business decisions.

• Participate in team planning and roadmap prioritization alongside the Senior Manager, Data Analytics, while mentoring junior analysts on best practices in SQL, dbt, and Power BI.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in roles such as business analyst, data analyst, strategy analyst, process analyst, or a similar position.

• At least 5 years of experience utilizing a business analytics service or tool: Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, or a comparable platform.

• Over 5 years of experience in one or more of the following: SQL (preferred), dbt, DAX, Python, or similar technologies.

• Experience with Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse (Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift) is preferred.

• Proficiency in Excel, Salesforce, Jira, and standard analytical and presentation software.

• Practical experience with AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) and/or text-to-SQL or other LLM-based analytics tools is preferred.

• A self-motivated individual who is enthusiastic about continuous learning and innovative problem-solving.

• Proven experience collaborating with senior stakeholders on cross-functional projects, including leading discovery phases, driving adoption, and influencing strategic decisions.
