This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and various experiments throughout the customer lifecycle, encompassing acquisition, conversion, retention, and reactivation.
• Develop cohort, funnel, and retention analyses to reveal insights into customer behavior and identify significant opportunities.
• Lead comprehensive investigations into commercial performance, customer churn, fraud patterns, and product engagement metrics.
• Convert vague business inquiries into well-defined analytical challenges, providing clear recommendations based on the findings.
• Communicate results to senior stakeholders in a transparent and actionable manner, focusing on conclusions rather than just visualizations.
• Create and sustain self-service dashboards and reports that equip teams with timely data access.
• Gain an in-depth understanding of metrics related to customer acquisition, conversion, retention, commercial performance, and user experience.
• Collaborate with Product and Development teams to define and advance the data roadmap.
• Work with Data Engineers to ensure data quality, modeling, and pipeline reliability, while also identifying gaps and helping to establish standards for excellence.
• Assist Customer Success, Commercial, Marketing, and Compliance teams with on-demand analyses and reporting.
• Contribute to the development and enforcement of policies surrounding data governance, quality, and responsible usage.
• Spot opportunities to enhance the methods we use for data collection, modeling, and dissemination across the organization.
• Maintain a close connection to the customer journey and foster curiosity about user experiences and the implications of data.
• Advocate for experimentation as a fundamental element of our decision-making processes.
• 4+ years of experience in a Data Analyst or Analytics Engineer position, preferably within fintech, e-commerce, SaaS, or another high-volume consumer industry.
• Proficient in advanced SQL, capable of writing complex queries, optimizing them, and understanding underlying data models.
• Strong background in experimentation, including the design and analysis of A/B tests, knowledge of statistical significance, sample sizing, and common pitfalls in experimentation.
• Experience with cohort and behavioral analysis: comfortable creating retention curves, funnel analyses, LTV models, and segmentation strategies.
• Proficient in BI tools, particularly Tableau (preferred) or other major platforms like Power BI, Looker, or Metabase.
• Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis (e.g., Pandas, statsmodels, scikit-learn, or similar libraries).
• Excellent storytelling skills: able to distill complex inquiries into clear, actionable insights.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, comfortable collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams.
