Senior Cyber Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the administration, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Cisco FirePower Threat Defense and SkyHigh Web Gateway appliances.

• Deploy advanced intrusion prevention systems utilizing Cisco FirePower.

• Configure Cisco routers for Policy-Based Routing on Virtual Private Cloud traffic.

• Design and enhance security rule sets and policies.

• Conduct threat analysis, event correlation, and deep packet inspection.

• Set up and manage the Cisco FireSight/FirePower Management Center for centralized policy management and monitoring.

• Integrate FirePower NGIPS with SIEM or SOAR platforms to facilitate automated threat response.

• Execute system upgrades, signature/engine updates, and antivirus pattern maintenance.

• Carry out audits and vulnerability assessments on FirePower systems.

• Troubleshoot FirePower appliances to ensure high availability and resilience.

• Collaborate with IT, security, SOC, cloud engineering, and application development teams.

• Develop and maintain configuration, policy, procedure, and operational documentation.

• Offer technical guidance and training on Cisco FirePower operations.

• Assist with security audits, security events, and requests from Tier 2/3 application development organizations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, or work experience.

• Over 5 years of relevant experience in maintaining security systems within cloud environments.

• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services cloud environments and CMS CCSQ/QNET.

• Proven experience in configuring, maintaining, tuning, reporting, and remediating various security tools and services.

• Background in AWS Security services such as GuardDuty, Security Hub, and Inspector.

• Capability to resolve security findings from security scanning processes.

• Willingness to learn new tools as needed.

• Understanding of USGCB and STIG system hardening benchmarks.

• Experience with SIEM, particularly Splunk.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Proficient in Cisco FirePOWER, firewalls, McAfee Web Gateway, and network firewalls.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking, and dynamic environment.

• Experience in an Agile work setting.

• Must possess and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• Candidates must have resided in the United States for at least 3 of the last 5 years prior to the Public Trust investigation and Federal ID Card application.

• Work visa sponsorship is not available.

• Preferred qualifications include cloud security certification such as AWS Certified Security Specialty or CISSP.

• Preferred understanding of key management and certificate management.

• Preferred knowledge of CIS benchmarks.

• Preferred experience with CrowdStrike Falcon, Palo Alto NGFW, and Snyk.
