This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead Unit 42's distinguished team of cybersecurity experts to directly enhance the security posture of the world's leading organizations through a range of assessments for our elite clientele.
• Organize and oversee a dynamic timetable for a large group of top offensive security specialists, ensuring optimal skill set alignment to cater to client requirements and maximize the effective use of available billable hours.
• Act as a mentor for a team of offensive security professionals, promoting their professional growth by offering ad hoc technical support and guiding them towards suitable industry-standard training programs.
• Develop policies that govern offensive security practices, reflecting the advanced capabilities of persistent threat actors while enforcing best security practices to protect our clients' environments.
• Take on a customer-facing leadership role for multiple simultaneous engagements, directing a technically diverse team through the intricate challenges presented by some of the largest networks globally.
• Ensure high-quality engagement results and deliverables by providing quality assurance and technical oversight throughout the engagements.
• Offer hands-on assistance for highly sophisticated offensive security operations, employing advanced techniques in technically demanding environments.
• Support the sales team by engaging with clients to clearly explain various penetration strategies and methodologies to both technical and executive audiences.
• Convert customer requirements into actionable statements of work, including a work breakdown structure with precise estimates of billable hours for each distinct phase of testing.
• Create scripts, tools, and methodologies to automate and optimize internal processes and engagements.
• Contribute to the development of security standards and best practices for the organization while recommending security enhancements as necessary.
• Assist in evolving and maturing both new and existing Unit 42 offensive security offerings.
• Bachelor's degree with 12 years of experience, Master's degree with 8 years of experience, or PhD with 5 years of experience in Information Security, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Cyber Security, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in managing a team of consultants to execute various penetration testing requirements.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, serving as a front-facing representative of Palo Alto Networks and fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Proven track record in drafting comprehensive, articulate reports that convey technically intricate material to an executive-level audience, ensuring clarity and informed decision-making.
• Experience in identifying new opportunities with potential clients, including preparing statements of work and proposals.
• Practical experience and deep knowledge of tools and techniques for performing network, wireless, and web application penetration testing.
• Willingness to meet travel requirements as needed to address business demands (approximately 30% on average).
