This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee and assist in the creation of compliance programs, encompassing policies, procedures, risk assessments, and workplans.
β’ Execute compliance risk assessments and gap analyses across clinical, operational, and revenue cycle sectors.
β’ Act as a subject matter expert for regulatory guidance, including federal and state healthcare laws and payer requirements.
β’ Assist clients with audit defense activities.
β’ Design and implement compliance training programs.
β’ Analyze data to uncover trends, outliers, and potential compliance risks; communicate findings to stakeholders.
β’ Provide guidance to clients on best practices for HIPAA privacy and breach response, and support the implementation and monitoring of corrective action plans and compliance initiatives.
β’ Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance workflows, internal controls, and documentation practices.
β’ Keep abreast of regulatory changes (e.g., CMS, OIG Work Plan, payer updates) and evaluate their impact on clients.
β’ Function as an outsourced/fractional compliance resource, addressing daily compliance needs and strategic initiatives.
β’ Contribute to client deliverables, reports, and presentations with clear, actionable recommendations.
β’ Engage in business development activities, including the development of proposals.
β’ 3-5+ years of experience in healthcare compliance, consulting, practice administration, or a related field.
β’ Experience in interpreting and applying healthcare regulations (e.g., CMS, OIG, HIPAA, and state-specific requirements).
β’ Preferred exposure to various care settings (e.g., physician practices, hospitals, outpatient services).
β’ Strongly preferred experience in supporting or participating in external audits or regulatory inquiries.
β’ Bachelor's degree is required.
β’ One or more relevant certifications are required: Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), CPC, or other AAPC or AHIMA coding/auditing credentials are a plus but not mandatory.
β’ Robust understanding of healthcare compliance program components and regulatory frameworks.
β’ Capability to conduct independent regulatory research and convert findings into practical guidance.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
β’ Experience with Electronic Health Records.
