This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Take ownership of essential computer vision models, including 3D human pose estimation and statistical body modeling, progressing them from prototype to production;
• Deliver these models for real-time operation both in the cloud and on devices such as tablets, managing the conversion and optimization processes;
• Oversee the data and code lifecycle associated with these models: including training frameworks, annotation workflows, pipelines, auto-labeling, test sets, and taxonomy;
• Broaden the comprehension of movement by incorporating multimodal elements, integrating it with language and reasoning; create innovative methodologies in the movement-intelligence sector;
• Standardize and enhance our processes for training, tracking, versioning, and deploying models, ensuring every outcome is reproducible and testable;
• Develop systems that operate autonomously, automating processes to enable the team's output to exceed manual labor;
• Contribute to the growth of the Computer Vision team by defining and advocating best practices, establishing principles that amplify your influence.
• Over 5 years of experience addressing complex challenges in Computer Vision, with models successfully deployed to production;
• Robust software engineering background encompassing architecture, pipelines, MLOps, and the complete model lifecycle;
• Profound, hands-on expertise in contemporary Computer Vision techniques (transformers and convolutional models), with significant knowledge in at least one area such as detection, segmentation, tracking, pose estimation, or 3D;
• A data-focused mindset: you generate your own data, develop data flywheels and active-learning cycles, treating datasets as if they were source code;
• Strong foundation in multimodal AI, with the capability to create systems that integrate vision with language and reasoning when necessary;
• Excellent written and asynchronous communication skills. You conceptualize in specifications and documents, leaving a clear path for others to follow;
• Ability to work independently and take full ownership: you translate ambiguity into actionable plans and execute tasks without needing direction;
• Proficient in PyTorch or JAX, familiar with the Python data stack, and comfortable learning new programming languages and codebases;
• AI-native approach to work: you embed AI into workflows, utilizing agents and LLM-in-the-loop tools.
