
Senior Coding Compliance Auditor – Outpatient

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Support the formulation and implementation of the Annual Compliance Workplan, which includes the Auditing and Monitoring Workplans.
• Lead and execute in-depth Coding compliance audits, encompassing complex audits.
• Execute Management Action Plans effectively.
• Produce high-quality audit reports.
• Develop and sustain an Audit the Auditor Quality program.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to both new and existing Coding auditors.
• Engage in various activities related to the compliance program.
• Examine audit findings to pinpoint discrepancies, trends, and patterns that may indicate potential non-compliance.
• Establish and uphold an Audit the Auditor program that monitors quality and identifies areas for improvement related to audit management tools and processes.
• Deliver regular updates to the Compliance leader regarding audits, MAP outcomes, and escalate any compliance concerns that need immediate attention.
• Create and update training materials for the audit process and the use of the Audit Management tool/platform.
• Relay coding compliance issues to Compliance leadership by identifying trends and patterns.
• Stay informed about coding guidelines and industry standards for coding practices.
• 5-7+ years of experience in healthcare, acute coding, Compliance, audits, or a related field.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, DRG, CPT & HCPCs coding, including Acute Outpatient and Inpatient experience.
• Familiarity with revenue cycle operations, Compliance standards, and auditing standards.
• Knowledge of Epic, Cerner, and/or Meditech systems.
• Basic proficiency in Word & Excel.
• Willingness to travel long distances or by air, not to exceed 10% travel.
• Must possess a curious mindset and demonstrate openness to innovation, including AI, to explore improved processes and enhance patient and client experiences.
• Required Certifications: CHC (Certified in Healthcare Compliance).
• Candidates must maintain at least one current professional certification from the following (CCS preferred): CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician).
