Senior Coding Compliance Auditor – Inpatient

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Support the creation and implementation of the Annual Compliance Workplan, which includes the Auditing and Monitoring Workplans.

• Oversee and conduct thorough Coding compliance audits, including intricate audits, execute Management Action Plans, and generate high-quality audit reports.

• Develop and maintain an Audit the Auditor Quality program, provide coaching and mentoring to both new and current Coding auditors, and engage in other compliance program-related activities.

• Operate independently with limited supervision and manage assigned projects and initiatives.

• Utilize analytical and problem-solving abilities to assist auditors with their complex account evaluations.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience in healthcare, acute coding, compliance, audits, or a related discipline.

• Proficient knowledge in ICD-10, DRG, CPT & HCPCs coding, including experience in Acute Outpatient and Inpatient settings.

• Understanding of revenue cycle operations, compliance standards, and auditing standards.

• Familiarity with Epic, Cerner, and/or Meditech systems.

• Basic skills in Word & Excel applications.

• Willingness to travel long distances or by air, not exceeding 10% of the time.

• Must possess a curious mindset and demonstrate a willingness to embrace innovation, including AI, to identify enhanced processes and reduce friction while improving patient and client experiences.

• Required Certifications: CHC (Certified in Healthcare Compliance).

• Candidates must hold and maintain at least one of the following professional certifications (CCS preferred): CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician).
