Senior Cloud Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate system designs and implementations while collaborating with engineers to identify, mitigate, document, and resolve security issues.

• Recommend solutions and spearhead architectural enhancements aimed at addressing various classes of security vulnerabilities.

• Design and implement cloud and infrastructure security architecture, contributing to strategic planning and roadmap initiatives.

• Choose, design, develop, implement, and oversee automated security testing tools, including cloud security posture management and image vulnerability scanners.

• Integrate security solutions into CI pipelines to promote a proactive security approach.

• Advocate for DevSecOps principles and enforce Infrastructure as Code scanning and policy enforcement for Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar deployments.

• Coordinate and engage in penetration testing of cloud services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience in Cloud Security, SRE, DevOps, DevSecOps, or Infrastructure Engineering.

• Strong familiarity with Kubernetes and associated ecosystem tools like Helm and ArgoCD.

• Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly AWS Organizations, AWS Identity (SSO), IAM, SCPs, VPCs, Elastic Load Balancers, CloudTrail, and Security Groups.

• Proficient in Terraform.

• Experience in developing custom actions or workflows within GitHub or GitLab.

• Solid grasp of cloud security vulnerability defense strategies, AWS security practices, and contemporary threats.

• Proficiency in a high-level programming language such as Python or Go.

• Familiarity with policy management tools like OPA or Kyverno.

• SRE experience is a plus.

• Experience with Scala or the JVM ecosystem is a plus.

• Knowledge of Datadog and Prometheus/Grafana is a plus.

• Experience with AWS EKS is a plus.

• Familiarity with Panther SIEM is a plus.

• Practical experience setting up and managing Jupyter notebook instances is a plus.
