This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.
• Oversee the design and management of security controls in cloud environments within Google Cloud.
• Perform security assessments to uncover vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and compliance issues, and lead remediation initiatives.
• Create and uphold cloud security policies, standards, and best practices in accordance with frameworks like NIST and SOC 2.
• Collaborate with cloud engineering, site reliability engineering, and product engineering teams to implement secure infrastructure and network modifications.
• Assist DevOps and infrastructure teams with secure deployment methodologies, automation, and cloud security tools.
• Supervise network activity and security events, investigate potential threats, and respond to incidents to ensure platform integrity.
• Guide team members and provide insights on cloud security strategy, tools, and emerging risks.
• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field is mandatory.
• Over 10 years of experience in security engineering or cloud engineering, particularly in cloud and network security, is essential.
• Practical experience in securing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments is required.
• CCSP or CSA certification is advantageous!
• In-depth knowledge of cloud networking concepts, including virtual networking, routing, subnetting, and access controls.
• Experience in conducting cloud security audits, assessments, and remediation strategies.
• Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as NIST, CCM, and SOC 2.
• Proficient in scripting and infrastructure automation tools like Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Terraform.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven experience in leading projects, mentoring colleagues, and influencing security decisions across teams.
