Senior Backend Rust Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create and develop scalable infrastructure for short-form videos

• Design architecture for video ingestion and transcoding workflows

• Enhance playback performance for both mobile and web platforms

• Develop systems for scalable media delivery

• Construct APIs to support high-volume video interactions

• Assist in the architecture of recommendation and engagement systems

• Focus on low-latency media infrastructure

• Collaborate with engineers from frontend, mobile, AI, and platform teams

• Contribute to optimizing infrastructure for global fan engagement on a large scale

• Proficient in Rust with backend engineering experience

• Skilled in designing scalable distributed systems

• Proven experience in developing high-scale APIs

• Knowledgeable in media or video infrastructure

• Familiarity with real-time systems

• Strong grasp of concurrency and low-latency infrastructure

• Experience in building scalable content delivery systems

• Capable of optimizing backend performance for high-volume traffic

• In-depth understanding of scalable media pipelines

• Knowledge of video ingestion pipelines

• Experience with video transcoding systems

• Familiarity with streaming infrastructure

• Expertise in CDN optimization

• Proficient in short-form video feed systems

• Experience with recommendation or engagement systems

• Knowledge of real-time media delivery

• Familiarity with upload and processing pipelines

• Experience with distributed event systems

• Background in large-scale consumer platforms

• Skilled in high-concurrency backend systems

• Experience with FFmpeg or media processing pipelines

• Knowledge of WebRTC or streaming technologies

• Familiarity with scalable caching systems

• Experience with distributed databases

• Knowledge of pub/sub infrastructure

• Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure

• Experience in building globally distributed systems

• Background in recommendation systems or engagement ranking

• Familiarity with AI-assisted moderation or translation systems

• Experience working in startup environments

• Strong product thinking capabilities

• Ability to work independently in an early-stage startup setting
